Justin Boots
For those who like cowboy boots, Justin Boots are always a great fit. The company was founded in 1879 by H.J. Justin, a boot repairman from Lafayette that came to Spanish Fort, Texas. He moved his family to Nocona, Texas in 1889 to get in on the activity from the new railroad that was being built. His Justin Boots were quickly recognized and coveted region-wide for their obvious quality and durability.
By 1908, the company was named H.J. Justin and Sons. They were soon selling in 26 states as well as in Canada, Mexico, and Cuba for as low as $11 per pair. After his death in 1918, H.J.’s children, John, Earl, and Avis took the company over and moved the headquarters to Fort Worth, Texas.
John Justin Jr. bought the controlling interest in the company in 1948 and the company partnered with Acme Brick, another Fort Worth company in 1968. In 1981, the Nocona Boot Company joined the company when Jr bought shares from his aunt, Enid Justin. Chippewa Shoe Company was added to the conglomerate three years later and in 1990 after a legendary rivalry, the company bought their competition, Tony Lama Boots. Justin Boots has now been purchased by Berkshire Hathaway, which is managed by Warren Buffet.
They are still made with the same craftsmanship that they always have been. In fact, it takes over 100 fabrication steps and 16 feet of real leather to make just one pair! They use modern technology and expert craftspeople to make truly comfortable, durable and sharp-looking boots.

Some of the most recognizable people involved with Justin Boots are Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan and Jim Shoulders, winner of five World All-Around Rodeo Champion gold medals from 1949 to 1959. He was known as the Babe Ruth of the rodeo circuit and always competed in Justin Boots. In addition, the Texas Rangers, who have been protecting citizens from criminal activities since 1884, all wear Justin Boots.
